I didn't have an answer prepared. Thankfully, he moved quickly to another question.

The four-year-old: "Where did my little sister come from when she wasn't born yet?"

Me: "Um..."

The four-year-old: Do you want to play Buzz Lightyear with me?"

Me: "Sure!"

  3. Lucky you! I remember that question from my son when he was about 5 and he waited for an answer. Since he didn't have a father around it was not an easy concept for him to grasp.

  4. When Brian was his age, he referred to anything that happened before he was born as "when I was dead." That always took me back.

  5. And that's why Buzz Lightyear will always be a hero.
