Thanks to all. I was simply overwhelmed by everyone's kindness at the party.
Jag: I remember Coach Gamble well. So many morality speeches, so little algebra. The more time passes, the more I love that guy and his commitment to teaching.
His pride in never having ventured beyond the state of Tennessee was a bit weird though.
It was wonderful to meet you and your lovely wife.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I knew that you were a Rebel too. How many times did you have Coach Gamble?
ReplyDeleteCute :)
ReplyDeleteHa! With that god-awful joke painting in the background, too.
ReplyDeleteSo good to meet you both!

But what about Miss Grimes??? Wasn't she a hoot?
ReplyDeleteCoach Chapman was my buddy.
I totally appreciated and admired P. Wayne Simpson.
My sister HATED Coach Gamble.
sista: I loved how Chapman liked to pick on Lipscomb ("Lip-scum").
ReplyDeleteMy favorite teacher was Ms. Crowell. I had a crush on her.
You two are a beautiful couple (your kid's not bad lookin' either).
ReplyDeleteI often wind up with "arrangements" in my hair. This one is almost a mohawk.
I had her for something but can't remember...English maybe?
ReplyDeleteI always thought Ms. Crowell and Coach Chapman had the hots for each other.
