HNT - Checking My Christmas Stocking

My wife wants to upgrade to a king size bed this year. I want like anything for us to be able to afford that. Money is tight. I wonder if one will fit in this stocking.

Driving home tonight, my car made some funny noises. And not "funny ha ha." I sure hope that whatever the problem is, that it is not too expensive. This stocking could use a cheap answer to that.

The dream job that I want was taking applications before, but not now. That was going to be my shot at making more money for my family. I'll still keep my eye out for any changes but now I need to expand my search. Anyone know of any good jobs with good health insurance in the Nashville area? I could use one of those in this stocking. My family deserves for me to be a better money earner.

Aside from good ole American money anxieties, all is well. Everyone is healthy and no one lacks for love. I continue to check the stocking for any lucky breaks all the same.

If you haven't already done so, West Elm has a very very affordable king size bed FRAME made of wood, comes in 2 different shades. Doesn't require a box spring (cos we all know the mattress is what costs the most) and after taxes and delivery it came to about $380.. ish? For the frame anyway. The headboards are a little pricey and we haven't gotten ours yet but we're also thinking of making our own so...

Have you ever thought about acting or performing? You definitely have a stage face.
I almost moved to Nashville a few years back, but that job market was the main reason I didn't. I wish you luck, and HHNT.

I'm wonderin' what that dream job might be???
First thing that came to my mind was this scene:
a dingy bar somewhere in the vast metroplex of urban surberia on a cold rainy night. The air is smoke infested and hangs heavy with broken dreams and past promises never kept. There's a guy playing @ the piano who could pass for Tom Waits making wisecracks back & forth w/the bartender (ME) and the 4 customers who wandered in to escape the cold.
Damn! close that door why dont'cha pal?? getting a draft in here...

I'll keep my eyes peeled and my ear to the ground... If I hear of anything I'll shoot you an e-mail.

In the meantime, try not to stress. From what I can tell you are rich beyond compare with a wonderful family, a partner to share your life / dreams with AND **she says with a Seinfeld voice** "you're soooo good lookin'"!

Merry Christmas.

Ya know, if you want to work security, you can work for Dell security. I don't think they have to pay their health insurance at all. I have friends that work there, email me at badbadivy at comcast dot net if you're interested in more info.

I know just how badly it sucks to be po' this time of the year.

BTW, I *love* your blog, how did I not run across it before you came and commented on mine?

Thanks to everyone for the kind words. This whole blog thing has been very cool. Just when I get to thinking of hanging it up for awhile, I get cool comments like these which keep me going.

And to Boxset: Welcome to the scene! I can't wait to read about whatever you write about. I'm voting for general rants about customers in the workplace.
