Robbed!

My wife has the details.

I haven't felt that famous sense of violation yet. Maybe it's because the place wasn't completely trashed. Maybe it just hasn't sunk in yet. It happened while we were away and everyone is healthy and fine. Nothing was taken that can't be replaced.

Police report filed, doors and windows dusted for fingerprints, the kids are none the wiser and are sleeping unaware in their beds. We are back to our routines. And the police officer who stopped by to help with the report is back to his routine of visiting other victims of break-ins around our fair city. He's been busy this week. 'Tis the season.

Be safe and sleep well.

Awww, Man, that sucks! I have no concept how someone can just feel free to take something that isn't theirs. It just amazes me that there are people out there who care nothing for anyone but themselves.

I just read Paige's update, that just sucks, I'm so sorry y'all had to come home to that, even if they didn't take anything major.

On another note (per your note on my blog), yes, I'd definitely love to meet you/y'all when I come up again. Probably be late Jan./early Feb., will keep you in the loop!

Yuck, I hate that! As you know, our family was also burgled over the holiday. We lost something very personal and sentimental; I so wanted to just call back our houligans and bargain with them: "Look...bring that back, and you can have the TV, k?"

Aww, I'm sorry to hear that. It is a shitty voilated feeling to know somebody's been in your house. RUABelle and I got burgled twice in the first two years we lived in the Village before it became more gentrified. Both times it was by serial break-in artists that the cops already knew by name.

It's like that old joke...what's the definition of a Republican? A Democrat who's been mugged.

Glad you're all safe.

I'm very sorry your home was broken into, though I'm very glad everyone is okay.

Sigh. I'm so sorry to hear about your break-in. Over the summer, I went on vacation & came to a home that was broken into & trashed. The feeling is horrible. I can't say I'm fully recovered from it.

I'm so sorry... that's just really crappy to come home to.
