Again With Names

My daughter wants us to name the new baby Halle if it's a girl. Of all the names we've been tossing around, that one really sounded good to me. I looked at my wife to get her opinion. "No," she said. Apparently, she has a friend who has a baby with the that name and so naming her own child the same goes against the rules.

Women.

I vote for naming your daughter Mongo.

Mongo was definitely our third choice.

Names are hard, but they're way easier for girls than for boys. I could give you a list of girl names Katie and I agree on, but we've only got a list of uninteresting names we could settle on for boys.

Wars between friends have been started over "stolen" name choices.

It's why I kept the unusual ones I picked to myself, just in case.

Well of course you can't "steal" your friend's baby's name! Silly Michael, that's a law.

Hmmm how about something French?

Oh I think Halle is cute :)... but yeah, weird if a friend already has it.

I've always liked the name Meg.

I like Joslyn Victoria.

I like Hallie too, but I just can't name her (if it is a her) with a friend already having a Hallie.

Paige is right. I'm still irked that one of my best friends took the one I wanted. Not that there are any babies in my immediate future, but still!

I just have to tell this story, though if memory serves, I've already told it in the comments on this blog...I repeat myself myself.

Anyhoot, Indian buddy Ilaiy could never say "Halle Barry," instead he said "Harry Belly."

So, if you name your daughter Halle, I'll call her Harry for the rest of her life.

I agree with Paige, stealing a name is a definite no-no!!

I think you should name her Jezebel... I'm really wanting my coworker to name her baby that, but she refuses, lol.

Ya know, you could always choose a name similar to Halle...maybe just a vowel or so off...

I don't know what in the world could've made me think of this, but you know what would be a great name for a girl? Holly!

The oldest niece is named Asa. My sis and I always said the first one to get knocked up would get the name. She was the winner.

P.S. I tried to get jonathan to name he and Katie's baby Mongo too. :)

No no...Just looking at the matter objectively, I'm leaning toward "Erica" or "Ricardo" or "Rickaya" or "Rick-o-shay"
