Maybe Sam?

I was thinking of my grandfather yesterday and decided that his middle name, Samuel, might make for a nice first name for our yet-to-be-born tyke. I ran it by my wife and she liked it as well. So for now it's at the top of our list of baby names for boys. I like the idea of honoring my grandfather in some way and this one feels good.

Incidentally, if our baby is a girl, Samantha Beziat is now at the top of that gender's list.

I LOVE it. Of course that's another future baby name I'll have to give up. Grrrr.

Great name choices. My kids have names that honor family members in some fashion as well, but it's their middle names.

Thanks all.

anon: We agree that it's so nice and important to honor family members where we can. It does feel good.

monster: Cool. It's nice to have both genders pretty much covered with what is basically one name.

finn: Way cool. I haven't really known any Samanthas in a while. It's such a pretty name. I think of Bewitched whenever I say it. :)

I think of Bewitched too. Actually, my Sam's middle name is 'elizabeth', as in Elizabeth Montgomery...we didn't do that on purpose but it's kind of a dorky quirky thing I like. :)

finn: That's funny. Any Darrins in the family?

Anyway, Samantha Elizabeth is really a beautiful name. Nice.

As you know, naming kids is not relevant for me, however, I like Sam. Just like MM, boy or girl. My step-sis is Samantha. We just call her Sam.
