"Give it a name."

I know a woman whose first name is the same as her last name. (Well, similar anyway. First name Robin, last name Robbins.) I wrongly assumed that she acquired that little fact through marriage. In fact, she is married but chose to keep her maiden name because she's in marketing and her name is so much more memorable to people this way. She's very successful in business and I imagine she's got a point.

So with that, I offer to my wife a suggestion: This little baby of ours? The one who is likely due in April 2009? Boy or girl, let's name the baby Beziat Beziat.

I await her reply.

[Edit to add: I'm revising my idea. Now I'm thinking Beziat Boutros Boutros-Beziat. A name both political and rich in alliteration. Awesome!]

WHAT ???? YOU GUYS ARE HAVING ANOTHER BABY? HOW DID I MISS THIS?

Barbara Beziat has a lovely ring :)

Congrats to you and Paige. How did I miss this? I read you all the time!

Well, then Beziat is still on the table. Or how about Beziat Boutros Boutros-Beziat? That would surely be a child destined for greatness. Or something.

barbara: Thanks. We are just now telling folks. Surprise!!!

monster: How's Ben a musical term? I guess I get to research that one. ;)

julie: That is a nice name. I'm sure we'll put that one on the list. Unless Paige has a friend with a small child with that name. You girls have the silliest rules about such things.

i just looked it up...ben or bene means well... as in ben marcato which means "well marked"

monster: I just looked up ben marcato. There's a musician from Cincinnati with that exact name. My dad, also a musician, is from Cincinnati as well. So, in a sense, Ben would serve as a tribute to him. :)

katie: Good idea. Actually, we've already got one of those. Arianna Kate Beziat. ;)

jqp: Beatrix? I kind of like that one.

Yeah, I think it sounds pretty cool. Plus, it makes me think of Beatrix Potter.

jqp: My thoughts exactly.

melissa: Big thanks! ;)

I am truly laughing my ass off right now!!! Mike, you are not right in the head :) Why am I not surprised that Paige has Jovie on the list??? ;)

No, you're supposed to auction off rights to the name to offset college costs or something. Takes the work out of thinking something up.

Kate: You're brilliant! Care to start the bidding?

How about Bijoux? It would be beyond cool to have a name with an x and a z. (Beatrix also good by that measure.)
